Greek Revival Music
Some wealthy families in the early United States would have had a harp in their home. Studying classical harp would have been for families with the cultural refinement, leisure time, and funds to afford lessons from a tutor. More likely, the source of music in a Greek Revival residence would have been piano, played by a family member using sheet music composed to evoke an era or mood. Some families and public performances may have included duos, trios, quartets, or quintets with piano and stringed instruments.
